2024 is HERE and we are kicking it off with 9 action-packed classes: introducing Jumpstart January! This month, I will be hosting 3 amazing guest instructors who will be teaching their signature workshops: Vika Pole Dance, Toni Walker & Cassie Pickersgill!

Founded in November 2005, Sistah Space is an award-winning community-based non-profit initiative created to bridge the gap in domestic abuse services for African Heritage women and girls. The sister space is a specialist charity that supports African & Caribbean heritage women affected by domestic and sexual abuse, UK wide. They offer one to one or group support, attend court, housing and other relevant agencies where support might be required. They host and attend events to deliver diversity training to individuals & organisations with a domestic violence remit. They provide domestic violence survivors with access to necessities.

EXO FLOW WORKSHOP WITH VIKA POLE DANCE (ALL LEVELS)

A little about this Queen: Vika is a powerhouse of seamless and dynamic flow in poledance. Based in Bali Indonesia, this global pole star has travelled across the world to share her in-depth knowledge including Austria, Philippines, Malaysia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, German, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Italy and the Netherlands.

THE ART OF WAVES: HEEL TECHNIQUE WITH TONI WALKER (INT+)
Date: January 22, 2024
Time: 1 pm EST / 6 pm GMT

Level: Intermediate+

Class Description: In this workshop we will begin with a guided warm-up targeting specific muscle groups used in heels dance. We will then move into a sequence by starting with the basic mechanics of each transition, gradually building up toward more challenging progressions of the piece. We will try the full sequence with several selections of music. By the end of the class we will use this sequence to guide ourselves through freestyle prompts. The workshop will end with a debrief and cool down stretch.
Suggested Prerequisites: Pirouettes, toe box engagement, split grip, true grip

A little about this Queen: Toni Walker is a Pole and Dance performer, artist and instructor based in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Toni Walker has taught and performed in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and internationally in Italy, Germany, Canada, Greece and Mexico. They spent 2021 teaching pole in Italian in Bologna, Italy. While abroad, Toni traveled to Berlin, Germany and Turin, Italy to teach her signature heels workshops.

They have been practicing freestyle movement methods for 13 years and began pole dancing about 5 years ago. Toni finds freedom in pushing boundaries and diving deep into exploration whether it is in heels, socks, bare feet or aerial tricks. They value growth and continuous streams of learning & are constantly looking to challenge their perspective on movement regardless of the medium or style.

DARK SENSUALITY WITH CASSIE PICKERSGILL (ALL LEVELS)

A dance based workshop in heels following Cassie's signature style, learning short sequences and combos to weave together or to hone in on individually. With a focus on movement quality and dark seduction Cassie will lead you through her way of flowing around the pole encouraging sensual self indulgence, extended lines, edgework & floorwork. With plenty of time to dance through sequences, make them your own and play with new movement patterns.
A little about this Queen: Cassie is a professional dancer and str!pper from Jersey, Channel Islands. Now living in London she co-owns and teaches at The Pole Nook, a boutique pole and photography studio in Hackney. Cassie started competing in pole in 2022 and has since won 3 sensual style competitions at pro level including Filthy Fever - Denmark 2022, Skripped Down - Canada 2023 (Sensual Category) & Exotic Generation UK 2023 (Old School Category). She adores dancing to rock music and excels at leggy, dark sensual movement with an emphasis on musicality and elements of edgework!
